Elohim Kids

Helina's Big Step of Faith

At 19 years of age Helina had graduated from high school and it was time for her to take her next step. She wanted to go to college and had applied to attend a university in Italy! She was accepted and at first was so excited, until she thought of the kids. How could she leave them? Who would take her place? She asked God to tell her what she should do. Once again, He answered, telling Helina to not go to college in Italy at this time but to go to college locally and care for the children. She knew in her heart this was exacting what she was supposed to be doing.

She named the little group, Elohim Kids. Elohim is a Hebrew word that is one of the names for God. The name is grammatically plural but refers to the one God of Israel. It refers to Creator, Sustainer and Supreme Judge of the world, underscoring strength, power and the unique authority of God.

God Sees Me is committed to supporting the new initiative, Elohim Kids. 75 meals/week X 15 kids = 300 meals!

Helina has been faithfully spending time with the 15 children in her home 5 days a week. Now they eat together, play games and learn about Jesus. The café is committed to providing their meals. Elohim Kids has a Facebook page so supporters can follow their journey.

From Forgotten to Celebrated

These children once scavenged for food on a dump site. Now they gather around a table, learn about Jesus, and know they're seen and loved. Follow their journey on Facebook—because every meal, every laugh, every breakthrough deserves to be celebrated.
